The Doubletree is five blocks to the east of Johnston Hall, Marquette University.  It is adjacent to Midwest Airlines Center convention facilities and is within walking distance of the Bradley Center sports and entertainment complex, the Milwaukee Public Museum and IMAX Theater, and the many shops and eateries of Grand Avenue Mall.

Straz Tower is one block east of Johnston Hall, site of the Institute.   All floors have a central common conversation room in the center.  This block of rooms is being reserved for Institute participants only until June 23, at which time guest rooms may still be available but only on  space available basis. 

Straz Tower is opposite the Wisconsin Club and the Milwaukee Public Library.   Each room has large picture windows which provide some of the best views of the Milwaukee West Side skyline.  Personal refreshing beverages are allowed, but if imbibing in the large common central area, Institute guests are requested to pick up after themselves.

Straz Tower was previously the central branch of YMCA Milwaukee. Marquette first started leasing space in the YMCA in 1974 and purchased the building in 1993. Formerly known on campus as East Hall, the building was completely renovated in 2000.  Straz Tower is named after Marquette business alumnus David A. Straz, Jr., chairman of the board of Southern Exchange Bank in Tampa, Fla., and a member of Marquette's Board of Trustees.  

Straz Tower is an 18-story high-rise residence hall featuring the following amenities:

Rooms on the 17th and 18th floors are furnished with a television and micro-fridge.  A charge of $10 is added to the basic nightly room rate for these amenities.  A limited number of wheelchair accessible rooms with roll-in showers are available on floors 10-17.
